A Travellerspoint blog

Day before

A day to pack: 7 bike things; dinghy; canoe; sleeping mats; possibly 4 tents; food; cooking stuff; 6 gas cylinders; books; games; charging all devices; downloading GPS files for phones....

5.30 am. The Boots are coming at 5pm. Sparkle is off by train to Granny's. Everyone else asleep. Which route do we go? Avenue Verte or Donald Hirsch - we will wait and see. We need to be at the ferry terminal tomorrow at 6.45 and the boat leaves at 7.30. Will the children be able to make it to Paris? Will we all have a meltdown on the outskirts of Dieppe? Have I got enough sweets? Will they be traumatised by an adult goal being imposed on their child's view of the world? Have they already written down the number for social services in France and looked up the French translation for psychological and physical abuse.
